Thursday night brought Kolby Vandenbergh to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned weekend. Drawing 65 Super Late Models for the Cowboy Classic, Vandenbergh improved three spots in his 10-lap heat race to place 6th. Needing a 2nd place finish or better to make the opening night feature, Kolby fell short with a 9th place outing.
The following night for the Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson, Kolby dropped four positions in his heat race logging a 7th place outing. Transferring the Top 2 out of the B-Main and into the final $6,000-to-win preliminary feature, Vandenbergh posted an 8th place finish ending his night early.
Wrapping up the Show-Me 100 weekend on Saturday, Kolby was slated to roll off 9th in his B-Main for one last shot at the $30,000-to-win finale. Failing to place in the Top 2, Vandenbergh earned a spot in the Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge. Starting in 18th, Kolby Vandenbergh passed nine cars in the 20-lapper reeling in a 9th place finish.
