Thursday night saw Kolby Vandenbergh making the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 25th annual Dirt Late Model Dream. With 92 Super Late Models registered in for action, Vandenbergh held his spot for all 10-laps in his heat to place 11th. Needing a 2nd place finish or better in his B-Main to make opening night preliminary feature, Kolby fell short with a 10th place outing.
The following night for another round of preliminary features, Kolby failed to record a lap in time trials but jumped up one spot in his heat logging a 10th place finish. Transferring the Top 2 out of the B-Main and into the final $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Vandenbergh recorded a 9th place finish. (Zachary Yost Photography)
For the final night of the Dirt Late Model Dream on Saturday, Vandenbergh needed a 3rd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $125,000-to-win finale. After a brief rain shower delayed his heat, Kolby crossed the line in 6th but was light at the scales, bringing an early end to his weekend.
